My Birthday on the Potomac

I'm 28 years old!

My birthday came and went so quickly. I was so happy to find out that my husband would be coming home from the field a day earlier than expected, but thoroughly disappointed to learn that he had to leave Sunday for his TDY.

So, we really made the most of my actual birthday on Saturday. Started off the morning with a Filipino breakfast, then headed to Old Town Alexandria. My husband booked tickets for the Monuments tour with the Potomac River Boat Company -- and we had dinner reservations at the Chart House afterwards.

When we were at dinner, there was a beautiful rainbow outside! I tried to capture it to the best of my ability. :)

Sadly, the day ended just as fast as it began! Time sure does fly when you're having fun. I hated that my husband had to leave...again! Luckily, my husband's TDY took him to another post in Virginia about 2-3 hours away depending on traffic. I'm hoping to visit him during the weekend to split up the time we have apart.

I'm pretty excited for him to come back after the two weeks because my parents are visiting! It will be their first time coming up -- and we have lots to share with them. Despite my husband being away for two weeks this month, I know it will still be good. Lots of exciting stuff happening!!
