My guess is because I actually know how it feels to go through six months without seeing each other - and it was one of the biggest challenges I've ever had to encounter. So, I was one of those hysterical crying wives in the airport (although, I wasn't really loud...just tears spewing down my face). I tried SO hard to NOT cry...oh well.
I do have good news though!! We are officially half way over. I have to maintain the positive vibes to get through the next six months - and we'll finally have a home together!
I've stepped away from blogging the last couple of weeks to fully dedicate my time with my husband - and since he's been gone, I've just been a lazy bum. Hopefully, I'll be back to my upbeat and bubbly self asap! I do have lots to be excited about, my dad is flying to New York next month, wedding planning is in full swing and summer is really here!!
Needless to say, I miss the soldier...so much. How long was the longest you've gone without seeing your man/woman?

It's always hard to say goodbye again. Hugs friend!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jen! I really needed a hug! :)
DeleteWe went about 8 months from him leaving to his R&R. It was rough. And I was also the blubbering fiancée at the airport. Ugly crying at its finest! You're on the downhill side of it!
ReplyDelete8 months! You are so brave! Thanks for sharing Lisa - it's really reassuring to know that I'm not the only one out there.
DeleteSending positive vibes your way! We're just starting a leave today, and looking towards an 8 month separation before R&R in a few weeks, and I'm sure I'll be a blubbering mess at the airport too!! It's healthy to let it out :)
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great leave time with your loved one Lauren! I greatly appreciate the positive vibes, it really helps! :)
DeleteHello Rachel! My name is Nicole. I found your blog via Wednesday Walkabout and am a new Bloglovin and Instagram follower. Always looking to connect with other military SOs through blogging. Can't wait to read more! BTW...the longest I've been without my Marine is 8 months. That is our typical deployment.

DeleteWe went 9 months before our R&R. It's so hard to say good-bye after having all that time together. BUT yay for it being HALF-WAY! Chin up :)
ReplyDeleteYikes, 9 months! I must seem like a sissy...lol. Thanks for your kind note Layla!
DeleteHi there! So glad you stopped by to say Hi on my blog! I'm now following you as well :) Hope your time passes quickly, I was recently in your shoes but my hubby ended up being gone for 444 days!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment Mrs. B and the follow too! :)
